Exhibit Hall

Following the conclusion of Opening Ceremonies, the fans made their way back to the hotel to stand in line for the next big event, the opening of the Exhibit Hall. With 141 booths and 69 dealers, the Anime Expo 1998 Exhibit Hall was easily the largest in anime convention history. Dealers from all over the United States, and even some as far away as Europe and Japan were on hand to sell various anime goods to eager fans.

Meet the Guests Reception

This year's Meet the Guests Reception was held indoors in one of the ballrooms of the Anaheim Hilton. Guests of Honor sat at various tables and were surrounded by their fans, who got a chance to talk briefly with them about anime, America, and various other topics. Mr. Kamiya and Ms. Watase seemed to be especially favored, with crowds of fans around them the entire time.

Attendees EX spoke with said that this was one of their favorite events because they got a chance to talk face-to-face with the Guests of Honor, even if only for a few minutes. "I asked Mr. Kamiya a question," one fan said, "and he answered back in the voice of City Hunter. It was so great."
